However, the large variability of embryo production by the donors and the need to purchase and synchronize the recipients before knowing the number of embryos collected make it difficult for the decision maker to identify the ideal number of recipient females to allocate. An ex-ante evaluation to determine the optimal number of recipient females was carried out through a sensitivity analysis for the ratio between the number of recipients and donors in a simulation model. The estrus behavior was evaluated during an induced and natural subsequent estrus in twelve Guzera breed cows, in the winter and summer seasons in two consecutive years. The proportion of cows that responded to estrus synchronization was 84.8%. The effect of the interaction season x year of experiment on estrous cycle length was observed. Pro-estrus was longer in the summer (57.69±4.72h) and in the natural estrus (74.23±4.41h) than in the winter (38.95±4.02h) and in the induced estrus (22.40±4.36h). The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of two doses of PGF associated or not to hCG on the associated reproductive parameters in dairy goats. A total of 29 goats received two doses of 30µg d-cloprostenol latero-vulvar at a 10 day intervals (Day 1 and Day 10). The does were allocated according to body weight and body condition score into two treatments, to receive hCG (250IU) or saline at estrus onset. After the second dose of PGF, estrus was monitored and ultrasound exams were performed twice daily. All does were inseminated 16h after estrus onset. During spring a total of 126 cyclic Merino ewes were intravaginally treated with MAP-impregnated pessaries for the synchronization of estrus. After 14 days treatment, sponges were removed. Estrus detection was performed with vasectomized rams. Ewes were inspected for the presence of marks twice a day.
